The steps necessary in a complete gas furnace tune-up may vary a bit based on the age and make-up of your furnace, the most common maintenance steps include:

For Both Gas and Electric Furnaces:

• Inspection: On arrival, we'll carefully inspect your gas furnace carefully note its condition.
• Cleaning: When you have your furnace filter replaced, we will clean the rest of the system. We will clean your electronic air cleaner and the HVAC system's rest of the parts.
• Lubrication: We'll lubricate all moving parts that require lubrication like motors, bearings, or fans to reduce friction and prevent noise
• Room Air Blower: We'll inspect and clean the air blower as needed. We'll measure the amperage and voltage for the fan motor to ensure it is in great condition.
• Ductwork: Check ductwork for loose joints or hangers, and seal as needed.
• Thermostat(s): We have the right tools to inspect your thermostats to see if they are functioning properly. If they utilize batteries for power, we'll be changing the batteries out.
• Complete After Maintenance System Run Test: We will run a test on your furnace for a while and check that it is at the right temperature, that the blower is working, and that the burner is working.

• Check Ignition System: We will test run your furnace for a few minutes. We will check for proper temperature rise, blower operation, and burner operation.
• Gas Pressure and Burner: Verify proper gas pressure and inspect burners and clean if needed.
• Heat Exchanger: Inspect gas furnace heat exchanger for cracks, soot, and corrosion. Clean if needed.
